The experience

You arrive at a private salon in Salem's historic district and step into The Velvet Parlor: a candlelit room with dark wood walls, a large fireplace, teal and burgundy velvet, scrolled mirrors and stained glass. A stylist walks you through a wardrobe of over 400 costumes in all sizes and styles, from dark and moody to vibrant, and helps you find the witch or wizard look that fits. You pick a dress or robe, cape and hat, and the stylist makes sure everything works together.

Once you're dressed, a photographer positions you in the parlor and directs multiple poses. The candlelight and gothic setting frame each shot. You're working with someone who knows how to use the room's mood and the theatrical energy of the space. The photographer captures several images across different poses and angles, so you have options to choose from.

After the shoot wraps, you see the images and get your digital files before you leave. The whole experience (styling, shooting and reveal) takes 45 minutes. Infants can sit on an adult's lap, and the space is wheelchair accessible. If you're bringing small children, strollers are welcome.
