The experience
The Brew Bike seats 15 and rolls through Sacramento's bar neighborhoods at a pace that lets you pedal or sit back as you prefer. The tour lasts 2 hours total, with roughly 30 minutes at each of two or three bars: enough time to order a drink, chat with friends, and soak in the spot before heading to the next one. A live guide steers the bike and handles the route, so you're free to focus on the company and the bars themselves.
The bars rotate through 15 different partners, so you won't know exactly which three you'll hit until the day of the tour. That rotation means every ride is different: one tour might include Der Biergarten, a full German beer garden built from shipping containers with 32 drafts and pretzels with specialty mustard, while another hits Federalist for bocce and pizza, or the University of Beer with 100 taps and a rotating selection that changes daily. Streets offers an English pub vibe with fish and chips; Bottle & Barlow focuses on craft cocktails; Karma Brew has board games and a fireplace. The wrist band you get at the start gets you a drink discount at whichever bars the guide takes you to that day.
Bring your own beer, wine, or seltzer on the bike: up to three drinks per person, and no glass bottles or hard liquor. You'll buy drinks at the bars themselves. Nothing is included in the tour price except your seat, the guide, and the discount wrist band. Tours need at least eight passengers to run. If a date doesn't fill, you'll be moved to another departure or get a full refund.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the difference between pedaling and sitting on the Brew Bike?
You choose as you go. The bike has 15 seats and pedals, so you can help power it through the streets or sit back and let others pedal while you relax and take in the ride.
Which bars will we stop at on the tour?
The tour rotates through 15 different partner bars, so the exact stops change from day to day. You'll visit two or three of them during your 2-hour tour, and the guide will take you to whichever ones are scheduled that day. Each bar offers something different: craft beer, cocktails, German beer gardens, bocce, or full kitchens.
Do I need to buy drinks at every bar, or can I bring my own?
You can bring up to three drinks per person on the bike itself (beer, wine, or seltzer, no glass bottles or liquor), but you'll buy drinks at the bars during your 30-minute stops there. The wrist band included with your tour gets you a discount on those purchases.
What happens if the tour doesn't have enough people signed up?
The tour needs a minimum of eight passengers to run. If a date doesn't fill, you'll be rebooked on another departure or receive a full refund.
Is there a dress code or fitness requirement for the Brew Bike?
You should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness, since the bike is pedal-powered and you may help move it. The tour is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or poor cardiovascular health. Minimum age is 21.
