The experience
You decide when and where the driver picks you up: your hotel, an address across the city, wherever suits your schedule. From there, the tour combines two scenic routes: a drive through the Wasatch Mountains and a run through Salt Lake's best canyons. The route passes waterfalls, alpine lakes, dense forests and the mountain town of Park City, all within a few hours of the city. Because you're in a private vehicle with a guide who knows the area, stops can shift based on conditions and what interests you most on the day.
The drive itself is the experience. You're not hiking or climbing. You're moving through the landscape by car, stopping at viewpoints and pullouts where the guide can point out what's worth seeing. The Wasatch range rises sharply east of Salt Lake, and the canyons cut deep through it: the scenery changes fast as you climb. Waterfalls run year-round in some canyons. Others peak in spring and early summer when snowmelt feeds them. The forests shift from scrub oak and juniper at lower elevations to dense pine and aspen higher up.
Note that some high-elevation areas close from November through May, so the exact route available depends on when you book. A live guide in English narrates the drive and answers questions about what you're seeing. Children 12 and up are welcome. Younger children can ride along, and kids under 6 travel free.
