The experience
You'll travel in a private, open-air Jeep offroad through Sedona's forest, stopping at sites your guide selects based on the day's conditions and your preferences. The route may include Boynton Pass Road and its hidden viewpoint near Mystic Vista, or the Sedona Creative Life Center's spiritual gardens. Each tour is built around what matters most to you. Your guide makes real-time decisions to shape the experience, so the exact stops and timing shift from one departure to the next.
The hike itself leads to a lesser-known upflow vortex with 360-degree views across the canyon. Once there, your guide will teach you grounding techniques and ways to experience the site's energy. The terrain is uneven, so you'll need closed-toe shoes, sun protection and water. The whole outing runs two hours, which keeps the physical demand moderate while giving you time to sit with the landscape.
You'll receive a digital copy of Pete A. Sanders Jr.'s scientific vortex information, all fees and taxes are built in, and your guide speaks English throughout. Gratuity is separate.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What does an upflow vortex actually feel like when you get there?
An upflow vortex in Sedona is a site where energy is believed to rise from the earth. Your guide will teach you grounding and centering techniques to help you experience and connect with that energy while you stand in the location. The sensation varies by person and by how you engage with the practice.
Can I choose which stops we visit, or is the route fixed?
The route is customizable. Your guide will work with your interests and pace to shape the day, whether you want the spiritual gardens, the hidden viewpoint near Mystic Vista, Cathedral Rock views, or focus mainly on the vortex hike itself. Specific stops and timing are not guaranteed because your guide adjusts based on conditions and what matters to you.
How difficult is the hike to the vortex?
The hike involves short distances on uneven ground, so moderate physical fitness is needed. Bring water, wear closed-toe shoes and sun protection, and dress for the season. The tour is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or pregnant travelers. Children must be at least 3 years old.
What's included in the price?
The price covers all fees and taxes, your professional guide for the full 2 hours, and a digital copy of Pete A. Sanders Jr.'s scientific vortex information. Gratuity for your guide is separate.
Will I be alone with the guide, or are other travelers joining?
This is a private tour, so it's just you and your group with your guide and driver in the Jeep. No other travelers are included.
