You target redfish, spotted seatrout, flounder and other Gulf species depending on the season. All fishing gear, safety equipment and licenses are included. The captain meets you at the boat ramp with ample parking and restrooms on-site.

The experience
Port St. Joe sits minutes from wherever you're staying on Florida's Panhandle, so a half or full day on the water fits easily into a trip. Your captain meets you at the boat ramp, walks you through the day's plan, and handles the rest: the boat, the tackle, the licenses, the knowledge of where the fish are moving with the tide. The bay's clear shallows and protected backcountry are built for sight-casting and stalking, not for the open-water grind of busier Florida ports. You fish productive flats, bay waters and backcountry habitat in the same day if conditions allow, and the captain reads the conditions and adjusts.
What you're targeting shifts with the season: redfish and spotted seatrout are the bread-and-butter species, but flounder, tripletail and sharks show up depending on when you're there and what the water is doing. The captain knows the tides and the habitat well enough to put you in position. You handle the casting and the fight. Bottled water is on the boat. Everything else (sun protection, food, a shaded cover). You bring or arrange separately. The trip ends back at the same ramp where you started, with time to clean up in the marina restrooms before heading back to your day.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
How long does a Port St. Joe fishing charter run?
Charters run either 4 hours or 6 hours depending on which option you book. Morning departures leave at 7am. The afternoon charter departs at 2pm and runs 4 hours.
What fish can I expect to catch in St. Joseph Bay?
Redfish and spotted seatrout are the primary targets year-round. Flounder, tripletail and sharks also show up depending on the season and water conditions. Your captain adjusts the strategy based on what's active when you're fishing.
Is the boat accessible if I use a wheelchair?
The boat ramp, parking area and marina facilities are wheelchair accessible. The captain can discuss boat boarding with you before you arrive to plan the best approach for your situation.
What do I need to bring or arrange myself?
Bring sun protection, a hat and polarized sunglasses. The flats are bright and you'll be sight-casting. Food and drinks are not included, so pack what you want to eat. The boat has no on-board restroom, so use the marina facilities before departure.
Do I need a fishing license?
No. Your charter fee includes a Florida fishing license, so you're legal to fish the moment you step on the boat.
