The experience

The stretch limousine picks you up at your Los Angeles hotel or airport (LAX carries a $20 service fee, paid to the driver) and the narrated tour begins immediately. A live guide in English or Spanish narrates the route as you drive, pointing out landmarks and answering questions without the rush of a scheduled bus. The limousine holds up to eight people for one price, so the cost per person drops as your group grows.

The core stops are the Hollywood Sign viewed from Griffith Observatory or nearby hills, the Beverly Hills neighborhood with its celebrity homes and Rodeo Drive, and Venice Beach with its boardwalk, street performers and Muscle Beach. Most tours also include Santa Monica Pier and the 3rd Street Promenade, plus a pass through Downtown Los Angeles: Olivera Street where the city was founded, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, and the Staple Center. You can walk the Hollywood Walk of Fame outside the Chinese Theatre and Dolby Theatre, or skip those stops and spend more time elsewhere. The tour also drives past Sunset Boulevard's landmark buildings and celebrity homes, and can swing through Marina Del Rey to see the yachts and upscale waterfront.

The itinerary is not fixed. You can request the Getty Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the La Brea Tar Pits, Disney Hall, or any of the studio tours (Warner, Sony, Fox or Universal), and the driver will work those in. If you want to linger at one neighborhood or add hours, you pay the balance to the driver and extend the tour. The 4-hour option covers the core stops with shorter travel time. The 5-hour and 6-hour options give you more time at each site or room to add extras. Travel time between neighborhoods is included in the quoted duration, not added on top.
