The experience
The fire arrives in a tin that meets East Hampton town rules, and a trained attendant builds it and keeps it going the whole evening. S'mores come built into the experience. The kit includes Hershey's chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows, one kit for every five people, so you're making them from the start. Bottled water is on hand, and a 2-by-2 side table holds whatever else you bring. The three-hour window (7 p.m. to 10 p.m.) is long enough to settle in, eat, talk, and watch the fire without feeling rushed.
The attendant stays the whole time.
