Rise 600 feet above the Straits and see Mackinac Island from the air

Parasailing in Mackinaw City is a 10- to 12-minute flight towed behind a boat in the Straits of Mackinac, where you're lifted by a parachute-like canopy while suspended in a harness. The boat's flight deck lets you take off and land dry, with no prior experience needed. Trained staff provide all equipment and instruction. Weight must be at least 125 pounds, and combined weight for tandem flights cannot exceed 450 pounds.

The experience

A boat tows you behind it while you're harnessed to a parachute canopy, lifting you into the air as the vessel moves through the Straits. The custom-built flight deck lets you take off and land directly from the boat without getting wet, and the whole flight runs 10 to 12 minutes. You'll see the Mackinac Bridge up close, view Mackinac Island from a distance, and get a bird's-eye perspective of Lake Huron that you can't reach from the shore.

No special skills or training are required to parasail. Trained staff handle the setup, fit you into the harness, and walk you through what to expect before the boat starts moving. They provide all the equipment you need, so you show up ready to go.

What’s included

  • A 600-foot parasail flight.
  • all parasailing equipment including harness and parachute canopy.
  • trained staff supervision and instruction.
