Paint in the Vineyard with Estate Wine Tasting is a private class in the Santa Ynez Valley where you learn to paint the scenery in front of you while tasting through the estate wine. A trained artist guides you step-by-step through the entire process, and you take home a finished painting. The experience runs about three and a half hours, though watercolor options run shorter. Children from age five are welcome, and all areas are wheelchair accessible.

The experience

You arrive at a local Santa Ynez Valley vineyard with a group of friends and settle in with a paintbrush, canvas, and a glass of estate wine. A professional artist walks you through the painting process from start to finish: no prior experience needed. The instruction is built around what you see: the vineyard landscape stretches in front of you, and you learn to translate it onto canvas while the wine tasting unfolds alongside. Most guests are surprised by what they create, even those convinced they have no artistic ability.

All supplies and materials are provided, along with aprons to protect your clothes. The winery handles setup and takedown, so you focus only on painting and tasting. If you want additional wine beyond the estate tasting included, you can order it during the session. Watercolor options run one and a half to two hours if you prefer a shorter experience. The standard painting session takes about three and a half hours. A trained artist leads the class in English, and the entire venue is wheelchair accessible.
