The Experience

The pilot meets you 10 minutes before departure and walks through what you're about to see — the route covers 48 miles, and he points out landmarks as you pass over them. You'll lift off and head straight toward Aquatica and Epic Universe first, then swing past ICON Park and the 400-foot Orlando Eye before moving into the Universal corridor: Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and Universal Studios. The whole northern loop takes about half the flight.

Then comes the downtown detour. You cross over the Kia Center, Camping World Stadium, and Lake Eola Park, seeing the city grid spread out below in a way that makes the scale of Orlando actually click. After that, the return leg heads south toward Disney property — Disney Springs first, then Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. You'll get a corner view of Epcot (there's an FAA airspace restriction that keeps you from flying directly over it), and you may catch Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom from a distance, depending on the flight path and weather. The ESPN Sports Complex, Old Town, Fun Spot Kissimmee, and Give Kids the World Village round out the route before you head back to the meeting point.

What makes this different from a shared tour is simple: it's just your group in the helicopter. No strangers in the other seats, no waiting for a larger group to assemble. Every seat is a window seat, which sounds obvious until you realize it means nobody's stuck in the middle or craning their neck. The pilot wears a headset and talks you through what you're seeing, and you wear one too, so you can actually hear him over the rotor noise.
