A guided Segway tour of downtown Nashville covers major music venues, the Tennessee State Capitol and Music Row on a 1.5- or 2.5-hour ride that starts with a 30-minute training session. The tour departs and returns a block from lower Broadway. Groups and bachelorette parties are welcome, and all riders must be at least 12 years old.

The Experience

The tour begins with a 30-minute indoor training session where you watch a video introduction to the Segway, then get one-on-one time with your guide to practice balance and control before heading out. Helmets are provided, and you'll sign waivers before riding. Wear flat, comfortable shoes — open- or closed-toed both work — and dress for the weather; the operator supplies ponchos if light rain arrives.

On the 1.5-hour Music City Snapshot, you'll ride through the entertainment district past Ascend Amphitheater, Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Country Music Hall of Fame, Bridgestone Arena and Ryman Auditorium. This route is built for first-time riders and anyone short on time. The 2.5-hour Downtown Tour covers five miles and adds stops at Fort Nashborough, Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, the Farmer's Market and Tennessee State Capitol — areas most walking tours can't reach because you're moving on your own machine. Both tours include complimentary bottled water and a professional guide speaking English.

Tours start and end a block from lower Broadway. You'll wear a headset so the guide can talk to you while riding, and all equipment — Segway, helmet and headset — stays with the tour. Availability cannot be checked without booking, and credit cards are only charged once the operator confirms your tour date.
