Indoor skydiving at iFLY Montgomery puts you in a vertical wind tunnel where wind speeds reach 130 to 175 mph, creating free-fall conditions. You get two separate 60-second flights one-on-one with a certified instructor, plus training, all gear, and a personalized certificate: the whole experience runs about 75 minutes and requires no prior skydiving experience.

The experience

The session starts with a training briefing from your flight instructor, who walks you through body positioning and safety inside the enclosed wind tunnel. You'll put on a flight suit, helmet and goggles, then step into the chamber where the instructor controls the airflow. As wind speed builds to between 130 and 175 mph, you'll float in stable, wall-to-wall air (the same conditions professional skydivers use to train), with your instructor right there guiding you through the sensation. Each of your two flights lasts 60 seconds, and the instructor stays airborne with you both times.

The entire experience takes about 75 minutes from arrival to certificate. Groups are kept to six people maximum, but your actual flight time is one-on-one, so you're not sharing the tunnel or the instructor's attention. The facility handles all the gear (flight suit, helmet, goggles), and there's no need to bring anything except lace-up sneakers or running shoes and clothes you can move in. Afterward, you'll take home a personalized flight certificate documenting your achievement.
