The experience
The tour starts at the Foursight Wines tasting room on the family farm. A guide leads you on a 30-minute walk through more than 1,000 lavender plants, pointing out the six varieties the farm grows and explaining their uses and history. Alongside the lavender beds sits a native California pollinator garden designed to attract bees and other insects. Kids can do a bug hunt and find the fairy garden while the group moves through the landscape.
At the end of the walk, you pick a fresh bundle of lavender to take home. The guide describes lavender strains and cultivation as you move through the rows, so you'll know what you're cutting and why the farm grows each variety. If you want to extend the visit, wine tasting at Foursight Wines can be added to your booking.
