The Experience

You descend into a private rainforest valley using an anchored rope system, controlling your speed as you rappel down waterfalls and jungle cliffs. The guide manages the technical setup and stays with your group throughout, teaching you how to use the equipment and coaching you through each descent. Because this is the rainforest—it rains at least part of every day—the water level and flow change constantly. When streams flood and the falls roar too high to rappel safely, you switch to the cliffsides instead, dropping 40 to 115 feet from dry rock at a distance from the water course. Either way, you're descending into the same landscape featured in Jurassic Park.

Between rappels, you hike through streams on natural trails and swim in freshwater pools carved into the rock. The whole outing takes three hours.
