The experience

The tour starts with hotel pickup and moves through Los Angeles in a luxury air-conditioned SUV or bus. Your guide narrates throughout the day, pointing out facts about each neighborhood as you pass through. The route takes in Venice Beach's boardwalk and muscle beach, then heads to Santa Monica to walk the World Famous Pier, before moving inland to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills for window shopping among the high-end stores.

The afternoon centers on Hollywood: you'll ride down the Sunset Strip past the historic Whiskey, Viper Room and Roxy music clubs, then walk the Hollywood Walk of Fame and see the hand and footprints at TCL Chinese Theatre and the Dolby Theatre, where the Oscar Awards are held. Lunch happens at the Farmers Market at the Grove, a true LA institution where you can eat and shop. The tour ends at Griffith Park, where you get your picture in front of the iconic Hollywood Sign and take in LA's best views from the Observatory (closed Mondays, the tour may visit Mulholland Drive or the Hollywood Bowl as an alternative if the park is closed for filming).
