The Experience

The helicopter leaves Long Beach heading west, skipping the 405 freeway entirely and flying straight out over Manhattan Beach Pier before turning north along the shoreline. You'll skim past Venice Beach and reach Santa Monica Pier from the water, then turn inland over Beverly Hills and UCLA toward the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park Observatory. The whole route is timed to fit inside 45 minutes, which is the shortest way to see all the main sites of Los Angeles without spending a day in a car.

Once you're over Downtown LA, you'll pass the Capitol Records Building and fly by the US Bank Building—the tallest on the West Coast—before heading back to Long Beach. The helicopter seats a maximum of 3 passengers, so the tour stays private and the guide can hear you clearly through the headsets provided. Live commentary plays throughout the flight, and all taxes, fees and the fuel surcharge are included in the price.

Check-in happens 15 minutes before departure. A liability waiver is required on arrival, and the operator enforces strict flight safety rules: no removing seatbelts, no standing or leaning out, and no speaking over the pilot. If you arrive late, the flight may be shortened or you can reschedule for another date. Weight limits apply—the R44 helicopter has a 300-pound per-seat limit and a 580-pound group limit; the R22 has a 220-pound per-seat limit. Customers over the limit will not be allowed to fly and cannot receive a refund, though rescheduling is available.
