The experience

The moment you push off from Willow Beach, you realize the canyon walls are taller than any photo prepared you for. The Black Canyon opens up around you: volcanic cliffs rising sheer on both sides, the Colorado River running cold and narrow below. This 3.5-hour kayak tour covers about five miles roundtrip, and it moves at a pace that lets you actually look around instead of just surviving the paddle. The first real stop comes about a mile upstream at a historical overlook.
