The experience

You arrive at Lahaina Harbor and board the Paragon, a performance sailing catamaran built to move under trade wind alone. Motors stay off. The crew sets the snorkel destination based on that day's ocean conditions and visibility, not a fixed stop, but the reef that will actually work. Once you're in the water, you get premium snorkel gear, flotation devices if you want them, and in-water guidance from the crew. First-time snorkelers get personalized help. Experienced ones get the freedom to explore. The reef itself is what you came for: tropical fish, coral, and the real possibility of sea turtles, dolphins or monk seals crossing your path. Seasonal whale watching runs December through April.

Between the water and the sail back, you eat on deck: shoyu chicken, Hawaiian vegetable fried rice, chocolate chip cookies. The open bar is running: Maui mai tais, local beer, wine, tropical cocktails, sodas, juices, water. Vegan wraps are available if you request them at booking. As the afternoon wind carries you back to Lahaina Harbor, you're sitting on the spacious deck with a drink, watching the West Maui coastline and the outer islands. No engine noise. Just the sound of the sail and the water.

The whole day is five hours. Arrive 30 minutes early. Boarding closes 10 minutes before departure, so there's no waiting around. Reef-safe sunscreen is provided. The minimum drinking age for the bar is 21.
