The Experience

Li was already laughing before we even left the sand. I’d barely managed to pronounce “parasail” in Spanish to our captain (I think it came out more like “parasol”), but he just grinned and pointed at the harnesses. The water near Smathers Beach is this unreal turquoise—almost fake-looking, if I’m honest—and you can spot stingrays gliding right under the surface if you squint.
