The experience

You arrive at Smathers Beach and check in 30 minutes before departure. The crew gets you geared up on the boat, then lifts you into the air while the vessel moves forward. From up there, you're looking down at the water, the shoreline and the reef below. The captain keeps watch and can dip your toes in if you ask. Bring your own camera or GoPro to capture it, or ask the crew about their photo package on the boat.

The whole experience runs about an hour from start to finish. Sunset Watersports has been flying parasails here for over 33 years, and they're the only outfit licensed to operate from Smathers Beach. All crews are licensed and insured, and your guide speaks English throughout.
