The experience
The boat leaves the dock and cruises through the shallow waters around Islamorada to reach a sandbar where the water stays warm and clear enough to see the bottom. Once anchored, you wade in, float on personal floats, paddleboard, or simply sit on the boat and watch the water. The pace is slow and the atmosphere laid-back. There's no schedule to keep once you're at the sandbar, just time to soak in the Keys at whatever speed suits you.
Paddleboards and personal floats are on board and ready to use. Snacks and drinks keep you refreshed through the morning or afternoon. The captain and crew know the local waters and can point out dolphins and other marine life if they appear. Families with infants are welcome: small children can sit on an adult's lap, and the shallow sandbar means no deep water to worry about.
Private charters are available if you want the boat to yourself. The three-hour window gives you plenty of time to cruise out, settle in at the sandbar, and get back without rushing.
