The experience
You arrive at iFLY Phoenix and start with a training session from a certified flight instructor who walks you through the basics of body positioning and safety. Then you put on the gear (a jumpsuit, helmet and goggles), and step into the enclosed flight chamber. The instructor slowly increases the wind speed until you're airborne, floating in a column of air generated by the tunnel's 800-horsepower motor. Wind speeds reach 130 to 175 mph, but the stable wall-to-wall airflow keeps you suspended, and your instructor stays right there with you the entire time. You fly one-on-one for 60 seconds, twice.
The whole experience takes about 75 minutes from arrival to certificate. Each session includes up to six people total, but your actual flight time is solo with your instructor: no watching from the sidelines. You leave with a personalized flight certificate documenting what you've done. No previous skydiving or acrobatics experience is required. The facility is built for first-timers, and the instructor adjusts the wind speed to your comfort level.

Is this one for you?You fly one-on-one with an instructor during both flights, so the experience is personalized to your comfort level rather than a group lesson. This works well if you want individual attention and the chance to focus entirely on the sensation of floating without managing a group dynamic or waiting for others to take their turn.

Top questions
What do I actually do during the two flights?
You float in the wind tunnel one-on-one with your instructor for 60 seconds per flight. The instructor positions you in the airflow and guides your body through the free-fall sensation while you stay suspended in the column of air. Both flights happen during the same 75-minute session.
Do I need any skydiving experience to do this?
No experience is necessary. The certified flight instructor teaches you everything during the training session before you enter the wind tunnel, and they stay with you throughout both flights to guide your body position and keep you safe.
How long does the whole thing take?
The entire experience runs about 75 minutes from the moment you arrive. That includes the training session, suiting up in gear, both flights, and receiving your personalized certificate at the end.
What's included in the price?
The price covers all taxes and fees, one-on-one instruction from a certified flight instructor, training, all gear (jumpsuit, helmet, goggles), two flights of 60 seconds each, and your personalized flight certificate.
What should I wear?
Wear well-fitting lace-up sneakers or running shoes and comfortable clothes. The facility provides the jumpsuit, helmet and goggles, so you don't need to bring any specialized gear.
Are there any conditions that would prevent me from flying?
Previous neck, back, heart or shoulder injuries, pregnancy, or wearing a hard cast mean you cannot fly. There are also weight considerations: the facility may not accommodate flyers over 300 lbs, and those between 260 and 300 lbs will be evaluated by staff at check-in to determine if they can safely participate.
