The experience
If you've got a free afternoon in Kansas City and want to do something that feels like skydiving without leaving the ground, iFLY Kansas City is built for that. The facility uses a vertical wind tunnel to create free-fall conditions: the same sensation skydivers experience when they jump out of a plane. You'll get two flights during your visit, each one guided by a certified flight instructor who stays with you the whole time. The training happens first, so you'll know exactly what to expect before you step into the tunnel.
The whole experience runs about 75 minutes. You'll wear all the gear the facility provides, and the instructor handles the technical side while you focus on the sensation itself. The wind tunnel does the work. Your job is to hold the body position they teach you and feel what it's like to float. Afterward, you walk out with a certificate of flight achievement: proof you actually did this.
Wear lace-up sneakers or running shoes and clothes you can move in.
