Step-by-step itinerary
Visit three Hudson Valley wineries
- Arrive at Benmarl Winery
- Enjoy wine tasting and explore vineyard
- Travel to Nostrano Vineyards
- Sample wines and local cheeseboards
- Take photos at vineyard and willow tree
- Proceed to Quartz Rock Vineyard
- Experience wine, cider, and craft beer tasting
The experience
The tour centers on three winery stops across the Hudson Valley, starting with Benmarl in Marlboro: a 37-acre estate overlooking the river that holds New York State's first farm license. From there you move to Nostrano Vineyards, a family-run operation where you can photograph the vineyard rows and weeping willow tree, then finish at Quartz Rock Vineyard, an estate winery less than 90 minutes from New York City that produces its own wines, hard ciders, and craft beers from fruit grown on the property. The operator handles all reservations in advance, so you arrive ready to taste.
Transportation is included in either a luxury SUV or a larger vehicle depending on your party size, with pickup from your hotel or location arranged ahead of time. The five- to six-hour itinerary is built around the winery visits themselves. You'll receive a detailed PDF itinerary a couple of days before the tour with all the logistics you need. A live guide in English accompanies the group throughout. If the specific wineries listed aren't available on your date, the operator substitutes comparable local wineries in the same area (Dutchess, Ulster, Columbia or Orange County), so the experience stays consistent.
Food and wine tastings at each stop are optional add-ons you can arrange separately. The base tour includes transportation, reservations, and access to the three wineries. The minimum booking is two people, and all participants must be at least 21 years old.

Top questions
What makes Benmarl Winery special compared to other Hudson Valley wineries?
Benmarl holds the distinction of being America's oldest vineyard and owns New York State Farm License number one. The 37-acre estate sits in Marlboro overlooking the Hudson River Valley, and the winery is recognized as a leader in the movement putting New York wines on the world stage.
Do I need to make reservations at the wineries myself, or is that handled for me?
All winery reservations are handled by the tour operator before your tour date. Most wineries in the area require reservations, and the operator takes care of that as part of the booking so you don't have to contact them separately.
Can I add food and wine tastings to my tour, or do I bring my own?
Food and wine tastings at each winery are available as an optional add-on package you can arrange when you book. The operator recommends including it to make the day smoother, but it's not part of the base transportation tour.
What if the three wineries listed aren't available on my travel dates?
Depending on availability, the operator may substitute different comparable local wineries in the Hudson Valley or nearby counties like Dutchess, Ulster, Columbia or Orange County. Whichever wineries are booked will be of similar quality and experience.
Is the tour private to just my group, or will I be with other travelers?
This is a private tour for your party only. The minimum booking is two people, and you travel together in the vehicle with no other groups added.
