Step-by-step itinerary
Visit NASA Space Center Houston
- Meet outside Bank of America Tower
- Ride shuttle to NASA Space Center
- Explore NASA Space Center for 5 hours
- Return shuttle to downtown Houston
The experience
The tour starts with a 5-minute check-in at the Bank of America Tower on Capitol Street in downtown Houston, where you'll board a Mercedes Sprinter shuttle for the 45- to 60-minute ride to Space Center Houston. Your NASA expert guide travels with you, and the shuttle handles the round-trip transport so you don't navigate the drive yourself. Skip-the-line entry means you walk past the gate queue that builds up during peak hours.
Once at the Space Center, you have roughly five hours to move through the campus on your own schedule. The guide provides a recommendations sheet to help you prioritize: Rocket Park and the Saturn V rocket, Independence Plaza where you can board the Space Shuttle replica, the International Space Station module, the Artemis exhibit, and the Life on Mars section all sit within reach. Tram tours run inside the Space Center depending on NASA staffing and season. Your Mission Control tram ticket is included, and the guide can help you time it into the day. Strollers and small children are welcome, and the Space Center permits water, snacks in small packages, and backpacks.
After five hours, you'll meet the shuttle at the Space Center's front entrance for the return trip back to downtown Houston. The whole outing runs 6 to 7 hours door-to-door. In bad weather, you can reschedule free of charge.
