Ride to a mountain lookout, then dine by firelight as the sun sets over the North Shore.

A private sunset horseback ride on Oahu where you travel under fading skies to a mountain lookout point, then enjoy a fresh locally catered meal by campfire with panoramic views of the North Shore. Your guide shares stories about the ranch and surrounding areas along the way, and you'll ride home in the light of dusk. Vegetarian and gluten-free meals are available.

The experience

What makes this different from a standard trail ride is the destination: you're not just covering ground, you're traveling to a specific vantage point where the day ends with dinner. The ride itself takes you through the ranch under sunset skies, and your guide points out grazing cattle, ocean views, and the occasional wild pig along the way. The cooler evening temperature means the horses are comfortable and the ride feels unhurried.

Once you reach the lookout, you step down and settle into a quiet, private setting with a meal kept warm by campfire. You choose your main dish at booking (options include braised kalbi beef over ulu mash, huli-huli chicken, macadamia-crusted fish, or a bacon burger), and vegetarian and gluten-free versions are available on request. If you want, you can roast marshmallows and linger by the fire before saddling up for the ride back down in the fading light. The whole experience runs about two hours.

Parking is free, and your guide speaks English throughout. Children as young as seven can ride, though a minimum of two people per booking is required. Covered shoes are recommended, and bring a light jacket if the evening feels cool. The operation runs rain or shine. If weather becomes unsafe, you'll get an alternative date or full refund.
