The experience

The ride lasts 90 minutes and moves at a walking pace the whole way, so you stay in control of your horse and can take in the landscape without rushing. You'll travel through forest to the rim of Bryce Canyon, or on longer routes into Red Canyon where the outlaw Butch Cassidy used to ride and hideout. The trails wind past remnants of ancient Native American sites, and the scenery shifts between dense trees and open canyon views. A live guide in English leads the group and handles the route.

Rides are available for all ages and skill levels, from people who have never been on a horse to experienced riders. Children must be at least 7 years old to participate. The operator offers a few different ride options around the area. A shorter route that reaches the rim of Bryce Canyon, and longer tours that venture into Red Canyon. All rides are walking rides, which means the pace stays steady and manageable.

What’s included

  • Guided horseback ride on walking trails.
  • live English-speaking guide.
  • access to forest and canyon rim scenery in Bryce Canyon National Park and Red Canyon.
