The Escape Game Honolulu is a 60-minute puzzle adventure at Ala Moana on Oahu where you and your team work together to find clues, solve riddles and complete a mission inside one of seven themed rooms. A live guide leads you through the game and helps as needed. Groups of up to 8 players (12 in Playground) can book the same game, and younger players under 14 must have an adult participate with them.

The Experience

You arrive at the Ala Moana location near Waikiki, check in, and get a 15-minute briefing on your mission before the clock starts. Then you have exactly 60 minutes to work through the room—finding hidden clues, decoding puzzles, and unlocking the next stage of the game. A dedicated guide stays with your team the whole time, offering hints when you get stuck but letting you drive the solving. The games aren't dark or scary; they're designed to be exciting and solvable, which is why families with kids as young as 13 (or younger with an adult) can play them.

Seven different themes mean you can pick the adventure that appeals to you: recover a stolen painting in The Heist, go undercover as a secret agent in Special Ops, find gold in the California hills during Gold Rush, or save the future by riding a train through time in Timeliner. Prison Break is the hardest one. Playground is built around completing a report card to get to summer break—it's the only game that holds up to 12 people instead of 8. Each room is completely immersive and includes multiple connected spaces, so you're not just sitting at a table; you're moving through an environment.

After the hour is up, you debrief with your guide and get time for photos. Plan for about 15 minutes of setup and briefing before the game starts, and another 15 minutes after to wrap up and celebrate. The whole experience from arrival to leaving is roughly 90 minutes. The location sits right next to restaurants like Eggs 'n Things and Mama Phở, so you can easily pair the escape room with a meal or make it part of a bigger day out on Oahu.

Your guide is there throughout the game and will help you with hints if you get stuck. The goal is to complete the mission together within 60 minutes, and the guide adjusts the level of help based on how your team is doing.
