Fish Delaware Bay with a crew that teaches you as you go
A half-day fishing activity in Cape May where you board a 75-foot charter boat with up to 50 anglers and fish the waters of Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean under the instruction of experienced mates. Children from age 3 are welcome, and the boat's route may pass Cape May Harbor, the United States Coast Guard Base and Cape May Lighthouse. The crew can clean your catch before you leave.

The experience
What makes this different from renting a rod on your own is the instruction built into the trip. The mates aboard the Miss Chris teach you how to use the equipment, bait your hook and handle what you catch, so first-time anglers and kids get hands-on help the whole time instead of figuring it out alone. You're fishing the same waters as experienced anglers, but you're not left to guess.
The boat is 75 feet and holds up to 50 people, so you're not on a tiny skiff. You'll head out to Delaware Bay and the Atlantic, and depending on which route Captain Mike chooses that day, you might pass Cape May Harbor, the United States Coast Guard Base and Cape May Lighthouse on the way. The catches vary by season and location: Flounder, Sea Bass, Kingfish and Small Sharks are common. All your fishing gear comes with you: rods, reels, line, rigs, hooks, weights and bait. The boat is air-conditioned, and there's parking included.
When you're done, the crew can clean your catch so you don't have to handle that part yourself. The whole outing runs about four hours.

Is this one for you?The guide speaks English and teaches as you fish, so the instruction works whether you've cast a line before or never picked up a rod. Children from age 3 can follow along and fish at their own pace with the mate's help, making this work for families where the adults are new to fishing too.
