Glide past untouched riverbanks where you’re likely the only boat in sight

A guided airboat tour from Homer that takes you 4.5 hours deep into Alaska's wilderness, exploring the Fox, Sheep, and Bradly Rivers at the head of Kachemak Bay with a live English-speaking guide. The tour includes a scenic SUV ride along the shoreline, a ride across the tide flats in an Argo, and roughly two hours on the airboat itself. Groups stay under six passengers, and you'll likely see no other visitors in this area.

The experience

The day starts with a pickup 4.5 miles east of Homer, where you'll ride in an air-conditioned SUV along Kachemak Bay's shoreline with views of the Kenai Mountain range and its glaciers. The road ends at a horse ranch near the Russian Old Believer village of Voznesenka, where a short Argo ride across the tide flats gets you to the airboat. From there, the guide takes you into three rivers (the Fox, the Sheep, and the Bradly) that flow into Kachemak Bay's head. This is the only outfit running airboat tours in these rivers, so you won't encounter other groups. The maximum group size is six passengers.

About two hours of the day happens on the airboat itself, where you explore the edge of the tidal flats and the river channels. Seals, eagles, and moose show up regularly. The landscape is what draws people here: remote, untouched, and genuinely wild. The physical demands are light: you need to be able to climb in and out of the Argo and the airboat, but that's the only requirement.

What wildlife might I see on the rivers?

Seals, eagles, and moose are common sightings along the Fox, Sheep, and Bradly Rivers, though wildlife encounters depend on the day and the season.
