The Experience

Grapetown Vineyard and Farm is where the evening starts at 6 PM. You'll meet the giraffes—many of them rescued—and feed them by hand, then settle onto a grass patio with a wine tasting (or cocktails and beer if you prefer) while kangaroos, alpacas, goats, deer, camels, and zebras graze in the pasture around you. The animals are part of the farm's extended family, and the guide shares their stories as the sun dips toward the horizon and the Texas Hill Country spreads out in front of you.

After the vineyard, a short drive takes you to Bankersmith Boil Shack, a sister location on the same property. Dinner is steak—described by the operator as the best in Texas—though lobster, snow crab, grilled oysters, catfish and other options are available if you don't eat beef. You'll have VIP reserved seating and live music playing throughout the meal, so the evening doesn't wind down; it shifts into a different kind of celebration.
