The experience

What makes this different from most Florida beach days is that you're the one strapped into the flyboard boots, not watching from the sand. The operator takes your group by jetski to a private white sand island, suits you up in a life vest (or two if you're not a strong swimmer), and walks you through how the board works before you step into it. The lesson starts with basic balance and flight control, then progresses to more advanced moves as you get comfortable: all of it recorded on video so you have proof of what you pulled off.

You get up to an hour of actual flyboarding time per person, typically split into two separate 30-minute flights with a break in between so your legs and core get a rest. While you're catching your breath, your friends and family take their turn on the board or relax on the beach with bottled water and a Bluetooth speaker playing music. You're welcome to bring your own food and drinks to make the day your own. The whole outing runs about two hours from start to finish.

The island itself is one of the few places in Florida where you can legally bring alcohol to the beach, which matters if that's part of how your group wants to spend the downtime. Free parking is included, and the operator handles all the gear: life vests, wetsuits, the jetskis that get you there. Kids as young as eight can flyboard with proper instruction, so this works for mixed-age groups as long as everyone meets the fitness requirement.
