The experience
You'll meet your guide at the water's edge, ready to push off into Little Sarasota Bay. The paddle to the mangrove islands takes about 15 minutes, and then you spend roughly an hour and a half moving through the channels where dolphins, manatees and other wildlife actually show up. Your guide knows these waters from over 13 years of leading trips here, so the route goes where sightings happen most often, not where the map says they should be.
The bay itself is one of the few places on earth where you can see West Indian Manatees, and Osprey sits right in that narrow window. Beyond manatees, you're paddling past dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, pelicans, osprey and conchs. The guide shares the natural history and the human history of Florida as you move, so the facts land while you're actually looking at the thing they're describing. The water stays calm enough for all fitness levels, and the pace is relaxing. This is not a fitness paddle.
You choose between kayak or paddleboard depending on what feels right for you, and everything you need to stay safe and move forward is there: paddles, life vests, the works. The guide handles the navigation and the wildlife knowledge. You handle the paddle.
