Parasailing in Destin launches from Marina Cafe dock in Destin Harbor with a live English-speaking guide, safety briefing and all equipment provided. You fly up to 400 feet high for about 10 minutes, either along the beaches of Destin or in Choctawatchee Bay depending on wave conditions. The trip lasts up to 1.5 hours total with two or three people parasailing at a time. Minimum two tickets required per departure, ages 6 and up.

The experience

The boat departs from the dock behind Marina Cafe restaurant in Destin Harbor. You'll get a safety briefing before boarding, and the crew provides lifejackets and all parasailing equipment. Two or three people fly at a time while others watch from the boat, so the whole outing runs about 1.5 hours from start to finish.

Once airborne, you climb to around 400 feet and stay aloft for roughly 10 minutes. The route depends on conditions. If the Gulf waves are too rough, the boat heads into Choctawatchee Bay instead. From that height you can spot dolphins and turtles in the water below and see the full curve of Destin's shoreline. The crew controls the parachute and handles the mechanics. You experience the view.

Free parking is available at the marina, and early bird discounts apply to morning departures. The location has no wheelchair ramp, but the crew asks that you call ahead if you have questions about accessibility. They'll work with you on what's possible. Service animals are welcome on board.
