Buffalo Creek Ranch tour is a three-hour day pass experience where you watch the daily bison feeding, help feed alpacas, llamas, mini donkeys, mini horses, rabbits, goats and a turkey alongside the ranchers, then tour the large-scale Agapeland Model Train layout and hunt for a prize. A live English-speaking guide leads the whole day. Kids under 65 pounds can add a mini horse ride for an extra fee.

The experience

The day starts with the bison feeding, where you stand alongside the ranchers as they work and ask questions about the animals and the ranch. After that, you move through the rest of the herd (alpacas, llamas, mini donkeys, mini horses, rabbits, goats and a turkey), and choose whether to help feed them or watch from the side. The ranchers are there the whole time, so you get a sense of what daily ranch work actually involves.

Once the animals are done eating, you tour the Agapeland Station, a large-scale model train layout that takes up significant space. A scavenger hunt runs through the museum, and you get a prize when you finish it. The BC Depot Game Room is also open if anyone wants to play games between activities. If you have kids under 65 pounds, a mini horse ride is available for an extra $10.

The day pass includes entry to both the animal areas and the train museum, and the whole experience runs about three hours. Infants and small children can come in a pram or stroller, and service animals are welcome. You'll need to book your day pass in advance.
