The experience
The walk starts at The Sandbar Patio Bar & Grill on the Boise River in Garden City, where your guide leads introductions over an Idaho wine and a signature appetizer while live music plays (seasonally). From there, you move along the lush Boise Greenbelt (the scenic riverside path that connects every stop) toward Telaya Wine Co., a family-owned winery set directly on the water. At Telaya you taste their signature reds and whites while learning about their winemaking philosophy. The river views and the wines are both part of the same moment.
The route threads through five wineries and food stops in total. After Telaya comes Caffè Luciano's, a family-owned café on the riverbank serving handcrafted paninis, bruschetta and cheese plates. Next is Proletariat Wine Company, a small-batch, minimal-intervention winery in an industrial-chic tasting room where the wines are bold and the vibe is deliberately unconventional. Then Wepa Café, a vibrant Puerto Rican eatery with empanadas and plantains. The walk concludes at Coiled Wines, a chic boutique winery known for expressive reds and whites, and ends at the historic Riverside Hotel on the Greenbelt. Your guide shares tasting tips, local stories and the kind of Boise wine knowledge only someone who lives here would have.
All wine tastings, snacks and curated pairings are included throughout the walk. You bring only your interest in wine and your willingness to move at a relaxed pace. Bottled water is provided. If you're not drinking alcohol, zero-proof beverages are thoughtfully crafted at each stop to pair with the food and keep pace with the wine drinkers around you. The walk is walkable or bikable depending on your preference, and the Boise Greenbelt itself is the connective tissue. You're never far from the river.
