Throw axes, learn form, compete in teams

Axe throwing training in Pittsboro teaches proper safety, stance and technique under certified coaches, then splits participants into teams for competitive games and prizes. The session runs about an hour; axes are provided; children are welcome from age 13.

The experience

Pittsboro's axe throwing class starts with certified coaches walking you through the fundamentals: grip, stance, release and the two permitted throwing styles. Safety comes first. You won't throw without a verbal or gesture signal from the coach that the lane is clear, and all throwers confirm it before anyone releases. The coaches keep the energy high and the focus sharp on landing your shots.

Once you've got the basics down, the real competition begins. You'll be divided into teams and battle it out in games designed to test accuracy and nerve. Winners take home prizes and the ultimate bragging right: Axe King or Queen. The whole session runs about an hour, and axes are provided for everyone.
