Ride the ranch from peak to valley on the Chisholm Trail

ATV riding at Red Hill Ranch in Oklahoma puts you in the driver's seat of a three-seat UTV for a tour across the property and along a portion of the historic Chisholm Trail, from the highest peak down to the low valley where cattle and cowboys once camped. The 2.5-hour experience includes bottled water and snacks. You can add horseback riding, tractor operation, fishing in the private lake, or a farm-to-table lunch made with beef from the ranch. A live guide leads in English or Spanish, and children from age 2 are welcome.

The experience

Red Hill Ranch sits in Oklahoma with enough activities layered in that most visitors spend a few hours, though overnight stays in the Lakeview farmhouse are an option. The UTV ride itself covers the ranch and a stretch of the Chisholm Trail, the historic cattle route, moving from the highest point of the property down into the low valley where the working ranch still operates. The UTVs seat three, so you can bring two passengers along, and the guide handles the route while you experience the land at a pace that lets you take it in.

Beyond the ride, the ranch opens up depending on what you choose at checkout. You can feed the cows and groom the horses, gather eggs from the chickens, or spend time focused on one animal: all about the horses or all about the cows, with full interaction either way. If tractors interest you, there's a short course where you actually operate one and learn how the ranch bales hay, moves dirt and runs its equipment. Fishing in the private lake is another option, and lunch made from the ranch's own beef can come before or after your activities.

The whole experience runs 2.5 hours and includes water and snacks as standard. A live guide leads the group in English or Spanish, and the ranch welcomes children from age 2 up: infants and small children can ride in a stroller if needed. Service animals are allowed on the property.
