The experience
The tour runs the full perimeter of Oahu in one day, starting from either Waikiki or outside it depending on which option you book. You'll cover the North Shore's famous surf breaks (Banzai Pipeline, Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay), then swing around the windward side past Kaneohe Bay and Mokolii Island before heading down the dramatic East Side. Stops include Halona Blowhole, where water shoots up through a lava tube; Makapuu Lighthouse, perched on a cliff above the coast; and Sandy Beach Park. The route also takes in Lanai Lookout and passes through Haleiwa town.
A live English-speaking guide rides along and points out what you're seeing as the Jeep moves between stops. The 8 hours covers a lot of ground: the South Shore's China Walls and Koko Crater, the windward bays and beaches, the North Shore's wave-famous stretches, and the valleys and ridgelines that frame them. You'll also stop at Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut Farm. The pace is set by the itinerary, not by how long you want to linger at any one spot.
Hotel pickup is included in at least one booking option, so confirm which one you choose at checkout. A minimum of two people per booking is required. The tour suits travelers with moderate fitness. Those with cardiovascular concerns should check before booking, and age limits run from 7 to 70 years old.

Is this one for you?Book the Waikiki departure if your hotel is in that area and you want pickup included. Choose the out-of-Waikiki option if you're staying elsewhere or prefer to meet the Jeep at a different point. The 8-hour duration means you'll spend most of the day moving between stops rather than settling into any one place, so it suits travelers who want to see the whole island's variety in a single outing.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the Halona Blowhole and why is it a stop on this tour?
Halona Blowhole is a natural opening in the lava rock on Oahu's East Side where ocean swells force water up through the hole and spray into the air. It's one of the most photographed coastal features on the island and a signature stop on the circle route.
Does the tour include lunch or time to eat?
Lunch is not included on this tour. The itinerary includes stops at various points around the island, and you can eat at your own expense during the day, but no meal is provided as part of the booking.
What's the difference between the Waikiki and out-of-Waikiki departure options?
One option picks you up from your Waikiki hotel. The other starts from a location outside Waikiki. Both run the same 8-hour circle route and hit the same stops. The difference is where the Jeep collects you at the start of the day.
How much driving is there versus time spent at each stop?
The tour is designed to move around the full island in 8 hours, so most of the day is spent in the Jeep traveling between stops rather than lingering at any single site. You'll get out at each landmark for photos and views, but the emphasis is on covering the whole circle.
Is this tour good for someone who gets carsick easily?
The tour spends most of its 8 hours in a moving Jeep on island roads, so if you're prone to motion sickness, you may want to take precautions or consider a different activity. The constant driving is central to how the tour works.
