The experience
The tour departs Salt Lake City and heads first to Grand Teton National Park, where you'll camp inside the park and spend the day hiking to Inspiration Point or around Jenny Lake while watching for moose, grizzly bears and other wildlife. The mountain range rises dramatically above pristine lakes, and your guide will tailor the pace to your group. You'll have a picnic lunch and settle in at the campsite for the evening.
Days two and three focus on Yellowstone, the world's first national park. You'll visit Old Faithful and the Grand Prismatic Pool, explore the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, and see Mammoth Hot Springs and geysers on both the North and South loops. Hikes range from easy to moderate, typically two to five miles, and your guide adjusts them based on what your group wants to see and how they're feeling. You camp inside the park both nights, with access to hot showers, laundry and Wi-Fi at the campsites.
On the final morning, you'll visit the Yellowstone Grizzly Bear and Wolf Discovery Center for an up-close look at the park's most iconic predators, then head back to Salt Lake City for a drop-off around 4pm. Your guide provides live commentary throughout in English, and the tour includes all park entry fees, private transportation, expert-led hikes, campfire meals and s'mores, and all camping equipment except your sleeping bag (which you can rent with advance notice).

Top questions
What kind of camping accommodation do I get on this tour?
Camping accommodation is a solo or 2-person tent inside both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. If you're traveling as a couple or group of four or more, let the operator know at booking so they can keep your party together in adjacent tents. Campsites typically have Wi-Fi, laundry, hot showers, and some have outdoor hot tubs or swimming pools.
What hikes will I do, and how difficult are they?
Hikes range from easy to moderate and typically run two to five miles. Your guide tailors the routes to your group's fitness level and interests, so you're not locked into a set itinerary. You'll explore volcanic features, canyons and geothermal areas throughout Yellowstone and the Tetons.
What wildlife might I see on this tour?
Grizzly bears, wolves, moose, elk and buffalo all live in these parks. Your guide knows where to look and when, and you'll have two full days in Yellowstone plus time in Grand Teton to spot them. On the final morning, you'll also visit the Yellowstone Grizzly Bear and Wolf Discovery Center for a closer look at these animals.
What meals are included, and how much do they cost?
A local food kitty of $80 per person covers three breakfasts, four lunches and three evening meals throughout the tour. Vegetarian meals are available upon request. You'll eat campfire meals and toast s'mores over the fire most evenings.
Can I book this as a private tour instead of a small group?
Yes. You can purchase eight seats and have a fully private tour with your own guide and group. Small group tours max out at 13 guests.
Do I need to bring my own sleeping bag?
All camping equipment is supplied except your sleeping bag. You can rent a sleeping bag with advance notice if you don't have one. All gear is fully sanitized between tours.
