The experience
You arrive at the snowmobile office and get fitted with warm outer gear, gloves, boots and a heated helmet. The guide walks you through safety and operations, then you spend time practicing on the machine before the hour-long ride begins. Trails are picked to match your riding level, so whether you've never touched a snowmobile or you've ridden before, the guide adjusts the route to keep you comfortable and in control.
The snowmobiles are new Ski Doo luxury touring models with heated handgrips and electric start: built for riding in comfort rather than roughing it. You'll cross the famous Alaska Pipeline and cut through snow-covered forests where moose, fox and other wildlife often appear. The guide leads the way and stays with your group the whole time, calling out turns and pointing out animal tracks in the snow.
Departures run throughout the day starting at 10am, with several afternoon slots available. You need a valid driver's license to operate the machine and must be able to understand safety instructions in English. Arrive 30 minutes before your start time so there's no rush getting geared up. The tour runs in all weather. Just dress warmly or use the provided gear, which is included at no extra cost.
