The Tropical Treasure Hunt is an interactive treasure hunt on St Thomas that takes you through the Pirates Treasure Museum and around Havensight to solve mentally stimulating challenges and locate pieces of a treasure map. You'll be driven to one of the island's beaches where you dig up an actual treasure chest, with bottled water and snacks included throughout the three-hour experience. A live English-speaking guide leads the hunt; children from age 3 are welcome.

The Experience

The hunt starts at the Pirates Treasure Museum, where you'll work through interactive challenges while learning about US Virgin Islands and pirate history. Each puzzle solved points you toward the next location on your treasure map. From there, your crew gets private transportation to Havensight, a popular shopping and dining area where you'll search for more clues—stopping at a coffee shop if you want to grab a quick snack or souvenir before moving on.

The real payoff comes at the beach. You'll have about an hour to dig up the buried treasure chest you've been hunting for, then stick around to enjoy the sand, water or a drink at the beach bar if you want. Part of the adventure is not knowing which beach you're heading to until the clues lead you there, so the route unfolds as you solve each challenge.

Bottled water and snacks are provided throughout. If you want to add a custom treasure—like Caribbean jewelry or an authentic shipwreck piece—to the chest waiting for you, you can arrange that when you book; call ahead to discuss options and pricing.
