The experience
Six hours starts with a 4WD pickup from your hotel in Ras Al Khaimah. The vehicle climbs and drops across the golden dunes of the Arabian Desert as the afternoon light shifts. The dune-bashing itself is the main draw here, not a scenic drive. You stop to watch the sunset from the high sand, then head to the Bedouin camp as evening settles in.
At the camp, the evening opens up into a series of stations and shows. A full buffet spreads across the dining area with Arabic fare, shawerma and bread stations, unlimited soft drinks, coffee and tea. While you eat, belly dancers and folk dancers perform in traditional tannora dress. Between courses, you can try a henna tattoo on your hands, take a camel ride across the sand, sand-board down the dunes, or pose for photos wearing traditional Arabic clothing. A shisha corner sits ready if you want to smoke. The whole thing runs under the stars with a live guide keeping the group moving through the activities and the meal.
Children under 4 need a private car booking (which seats up to 6 adults), and the operator notes this tour is not suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, cardiac problems, neck or back issues, or pregnancy. Everyone else, regardless of fitness level, can participate in the activities at their own pace.
