The experience

You arrive at Dubai Aquarium and start in the tunnel: a 48-meter walk on the ocean bed with the main tank above and around you. The water pressure and the sheer number of animals moving overhead (sharks, rays, groupers, trevally) make the scale real in a way no photo prepares you for. After the tunnel, you move into the Underwater Zoo, where the animals are closer and stranger: crocodiles, otters, piranhas, sea dragons, and Gentoo penguins that waddle and splash in their own section.
