The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Dubai hotel in a 4x4 vehicle and a drive to the desert meeting point. Once there, you get the helmet and goggles, meet your instructor, and climb into a Polaris buggy. For the next hour, you operate the vehicle across the dune terrain while the instructor guides the route and stays with you throughout. This is not a passenger experience. You are driving the whole time.

After the buggy run, you move to the camel ride portion. The instructor stays on hand, and you get bottled water and a chance to rest before the return drive to your hotel. The whole outing takes around four hours from pickup to drop-off. The air-conditioned vehicle on the way back matters if you are arriving in the afternoon heat or staying somewhere far from the desert.
