The experience
You drive your own ATV across Grand Turk's off-road landscape, following a private guide who knows the routes. The tour covers terrain that a taxi, tour bus or golf cart cannot access: remote beaches, backcountry paths and the edges of the island where the views open up. Before you ride, the operator walks you through the ATV's controls and handling, then fits you with a helmet, highlighted vest, goggles, elbow and knee pads. Everyone wears protective gear throughout.
The route takes in Cockburn Town, the island's central hub where you can stop for local food and souvenirs on Duke Street, then heads to the Cockburn Town Lighthouse, the oldest historical site in Turks and Caicos. From there, you ride off-road terrain back toward the Grand Turk Cruise Center. Bottled water is provided, and the whole outing runs about 90 minutes.
