The experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel in Trabzon at 10:00 AM, heading first to the Sürmene knife factory outlet to see traditional craftsmanship and browse local products. From there the route follows the Black Sea coast, stopping at a working tea factory where staff walk you through how the region's tea is grown, harvested and brewed: a look at one of the Black Sea's most important trades that most visitors miss. The road then turns inland through the Solaklı Valley, passing tea plantations and hazelnut gardens on steep hillsides before arriving at Uzungöl itself.
Uzungöl sits at 1,090 meters above sea level, ringed by dense forests and dramatic mountain slopes. The tour includes a visit to the Uzungöl Observation Terrace for a panoramic view of the lake, then the Artificial Waterfall built to protect it from flooding. After that, you have free time until 4:00 PM to explore at your own pace. Walk the shoreline, sit in a lakeside café, take photographs, or simply rest in the natural surroundings. The return journey to Trabzon leaves at the end of the afternoon.
Transportation is by air-conditioned vehicle with a live guide. The route covers roughly eight hours door to door. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, and the guide speaks English or Turkish depending on your group.
