The experience
The climbing happens across four separate zones tailored to the season: Kaynaklar, Sarıkaya, Gökdere and Dereköy. Each area offers hundreds of routes graded across the full range from beginner to advanced, so your guide can steer you toward the rock that matches your skill level and what you want to work on: sloping surfaces, negative angles, positive angles or crack climbing. Routes run from 10 to 30 meters, giving you both short pitches to warm up on and longer climbs to push yourself.
A professional guide teaches you how to use the equipment and demonstrates climbing techniques on the actual rock, then watches you practice and refine your skills in a real setting. You'll work with a helmet, harness, ropes, carabiners, climbing shoes and a belay device: all certified and provided. The guide carries a basic first aid kit and stays with your group throughout the day. Guides speak both English and Turkish, so language is not a barrier.
All four zones sit roughly 30 minutes from Izmir city center, and pickup is included in the booking. Public transportation options are also available nearby if you prefer to meet the guide at the climbing area. The full day takes seven hours, so plan for a morning start and an afternoon finish.

Is this one for you?You climb the rock yourself under professional instruction and supervision, not watch a demonstration. This suits anyone with at least moderate fitness who wants to learn real climbing technique on natural stone, with a guide managing safety and teaching you how to move on different rock types. The seven-hour day and the physical demand mean it is not a casual outing. Come ready to work and to be tired at the end.
