The experience
Your guide meets you at Kusadasi port or your hotel with a name sign at whatever time you choose. The drive to Ephesus takes 10 minutes. Once there, you walk marble streets past the Library of Celsus (built in the 2nd century A.D. as a memorial to a Roman proconsul), the Baths of Scholastica, the Temple of Hadrian and the Grand Theatre, which the Romans expanded to hold 24,000 spectators in the 1st century A.D. You spend as much time as you want at each landmark: no waiting for other group members and no fixed schedule within the site.
After lunch (optional, you can stop for traditional open-buffet food if you choose), the route climbs to Sirince, a Turkish-Orthodox village on a mountainside surrounded by vineyards and peach trees. The narrow streets are lined with women selling handcrafts and olive oil, and you can taste the village's wine in small cafés. The village blends Turkish and Greek culture. Your guide shows you both a mosque and an Orthodox church on the same visit.
The final stop is the Temple of Artemis site, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. After that, your guide drives you back to Kusadasi port, city center or your hotel. Entrance fees are pre-paid and included, so you skip the lines at each site. The whole tour runs 5 to 6 hours, and you're guaranteed to return to the port on time for your ship.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 7 years); Infant (under 4): free.
What is the Library of Celsus and why is it one of the main stops in Ephesus?
The Library of Celsus is one of the largest libraries in the ancient world, built in the 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila as a memorial to his father, a Roman proconsul of Asia. It stands among the marble streets and public buildings that make Ephesus one of the 12 cities of the ancient Ionian League, and it's one of the most impressive structures you'll see on the tour.
How much time do I get to spend in Ephesus itself?
You decide how long to spend at each site. There's no fixed schedule once you arrive at Ephesus, so you can linger at the Library of Celsus, the Grand Theatre or any other landmark as long as you want, then move on when you're ready. Your guide stays with you the whole time.
Can I add the Terrace Houses to this tour?
Yes, you can add Terrace Houses at checkout as an option. If you choose that version, you'll pay the entrance fee for that site in addition to the tour price, and your guide will include it in the route.
What is Sirince village like, and what do people do there?
Sirince is a hilltop village with narrow streets, vineyards and peach trees, where the culture blends Turkish and Greek traditions. You visit both a mosque and an Orthodox church, and you can buy handcrafts and olive oil from vendors in the streets or taste the village's wine in small cafés.
Will I definitely get back to the port on time for my ship?
Yes, your return to the port is guaranteed. Your guide plans the route and timing so you arrive back at Kusadasi port (or your hotel or city center, if you prefer) in time for your departure, even though you control how long you spend at each stop.
