The experience
You're picked up from your hotel around 6am and driven inland through the Taurus Mountains, passing Salda Lake on the way. The route itself is the first part of the day: three hours through the landscape of southwestern Turkey before you stop for breakfast. By noon you arrive at Pamukkale, the white terraces that give the village its name (it means "Cotton Castle" in Turkish). You see how the pieces are made and have the chance to purchase, but nothing is obligatory. You're back in Antalya in the late afternoon.
