Private Turkish Bath in Istanbul: Hamam, Massage & Pool
Ancient relaxation without the tourist queue
A private Turkish bath experience in Istanbul combines sauna, body scrub, foaming and massage in a single afternoon session near Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. The hamam is a short walk from the old city landmarks, and you choose your option at checkout: bath and sauna alone, or add a 30-minute massage and pool access, or extend to a 50-minute massage with pool and face mask. The session runs 2.5 hours and includes bottled water, coffee and tea.
The Experience
You step into an authentic hamam instead of joining the crowds at the tourist baths. The space is private—your own bath and massage rooms—which means no waiting, no strangers, and no schedule built around anyone else's pace. The hamam sits within walking distance of Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque and the Basilica Cistern, so if you have a free afternoon between sightseeing, you can slip away without a long transfer.
The session starts in the sauna to warm your body, then moves to the hot room where you get a 30-minute private foaming and scrubbing—the attendant uses water, soap and a rough cloth to exfoliate and cleanse in the traditional way. Depending on which option you book, you can add a massage (30 or 50 minutes), access to the swimming pool, or a face mask treatment. Bottled water, coffee and tea come with every session. The whole experience runs 2.5 hours, and you're not rushed through it.
Public transportation stops nearby if you're coming from your hotel, so you don't need to arrange a transfer. The hamam is built for the traveler who wants to actually rest during a trip to Istanbul—not perform relaxation for an audience, and not spend the afternoon negotiating with vendors or standing in line.

What exactly happens during the foaming and scrubbing part of a Turkish bath?
The foaming and scrubbing is a 30-minute private treatment where the attendant applies hot water, soap and a traditional rough cloth to exfoliate and cleanse your entire body—it's a core part of hamam tradition and leaves your skin soft and deeply clean.
Can I add a massage to the bath, and how long does it last?
Yes, massage is optional and depends on your booking choice: you can add a 30-minute massage with pool access, or a 50-minute massage with pool and face mask treatment—you select your option at checkout.
Is the swimming pool included, or do I have to pay extra?
The pool is included only if you book one of the massage options; the bath and sauna alone option does not include pool access.
How far is this hamam from the main landmarks in Istanbul's old city?
The hamam is a short walking distance from Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque and the Basilica Cistern, so you can reach it easily between other sightseeing without a long transfer.
Do I need to bring anything, or is everything provided?
Towels, robes and all bath supplies are provided; you bring only yourself and your swimsuit if you book the pool option—bottled water, coffee and tea are included.
